How to build a fire
  • First, to build a good fire, you have to choose a good location to make the fire
  • There should be no wind and rain where you are building your fire!
  • You should have a supply of wood or fuel available
  • Make sure you fire won't get out of control!
  • Build your fire on a solid surface such as a layer of stones or a flat shale rock
  • When starting a fire, start it with small pieces of wood and then when it's bigger, use larger pieces of wood
  • You can grade you fire material into tinder,kindling, and fuel
  • Tinder, paper, leaves, grass, bark, and resin can be used to start your fire easily, but has to be absolutely dry!
  • You can use a knife to make powdery tinder out of dry pieces of wood
  • Look for dead trees for your fire, they are good sources for your fire
